Commissions

NOTE: I am not currently taking on a lot of commissions at this time. If you are really dead set on it – I will entertain a conversation. Commissions can be draining - both creatively and supply-wise. The larger the piece, the more materials and supplies it consumes, and art supplies - professional grade supplies - are NOT cheap, and neither is my time or skill-set.

I reserve the right to set a higher price than what is stated below should I not be keen on the subject matter. If I'm not interested in doing something on some level, I wind up just choking and stalling out on it, art needs to be fun for me on some level - I dislike forcing myself to do it.

If you like my style of art and are interested in hiring me to create a customized original piece of art for you, I do take art commissions. I will get back to you as soon as I can, but please be aware that I may not be able to start your piece immediately.

I reserve the right to decline requests for commissions that do not fit my style of art.

I am not a portrait artist. if you wish to have a portrait done, please seek that from an artist that specializes in portraiture art.

I will *consider* a request for commissions in 3d mediums, but for the most part … I will decline such commissions because I work far too slowly for doing commissioned pieces to be honest.

Subjects that I will NOT draw or paint: racist or pornography. There is a difference between pornography and erotic and fetish art – and I know the difference *very* well.

Prices are based off of one character with a simple background (i.e. color, hatches, shading, etc.). Price is subject to change if more detail is requested, more characters are requested, and a more complex background is wanted, because all of that adds to the time needed to finish and requires more supplies, more effort and skill.

This includes ANYTHING requested AFTER work on the image has been started or completed.
Note: any additional tweaking or extra work added will result in the price increasing and an additional deposit being paid before work is started on those additional details.

Time to complete:
A commissioned piece can take from 2-4 weeks to complete as a rough estimate. All commissions are done on a first come, first serve basis, and length of time will depend on the volume of requests that I have ahead of yours, and not so much on how long it takes to do the request itself.

If you do need a picture completed in a specific time frame – then please submit your request with enough time for me to complete the request to my standard of quality. Poor planning on your part, does not constitute an emergency on my part. I will NOT rush my creation process because the artwork WILL suffer, and I will not risk that.

Payment Info:
I require a non-refundable 50% deposit of the total commission charge. The remaining 50% + shipping costs will be requested upon completion of the artwork. Once I finish the artwork you will receive an email with an attached file of the finished artwork for proofing, or I can place it on a private page on my site and send you a link to view it.

Once work begins and in the event a customer changes their mind about a commission, you agree that the following will apply:
  • I keep the deposit.
  • I keep any and all the work that I have completed.
  • I retain the right to do as I wish with the piece.
  • All claims on that piece revert back to me.
Note: If for some reason if I cannot complete the commission … the customer will be refunded the entire 50% deposit.

Orders, Payment & Shipping Payments are accepted through Paypal.com.

Rights and Publishing:
Unless negotiated at the time of the deposit, all copyrights, printing rights and publishing rights remain solely mine. If you do not wish me to display a commissioned piece due to private reasons just let me know, otherwise, I do retain the right to display or post commissioned pieces online or offline, to make prints and derivative products, or use them for promotional purposes and I will retain all copyrights and usage rights to the piece or art that is purchased. Commercial use would require an additional fee. I do not sell full copyright commissioned pieces of art.

Please remember … I cannot perfectly see what exists only in your mind and imagination, and I *must* rely on *your* ability to communicate whatever it is that you want. Art is always an artist's interpretation of what they can see or hear about or imagine.

I do personally prefer for someone to like my style of art and give me basic details and guidelines and then trust in me to deliver that which sparked their interest in wanting to commission me in the first place – though of course I’m going to be asking for input throughout the process to insure I’m on the right track and that they find it pleasing.

I take my art seriously, and my customers even more seriously. Every single buyer of my artwork has always been more than pleased and I often have repeat buyers.

I strive my hardest to ALWAYS deliver a high quality piece that anyone would be proud to own.
